boys' night out
it all ended in drunken stupidity and mayhem. This morning we went to the emergency room when he had sobered up enough to feel the pain in his hand. It's broken - in 2 different places I think. I wasn't really paying attention to the medical details of it all since I was too busy trying to see shapes out of the different colors of his face. It didn't really shape up to anything, kind of like him today.
I did notice that his black eye is unnaturally circular. Insanely so - my math teacher used to tell us that only insane people can draw perfect circles. He used to say that every time he drew a circle, which was a lot actually. The poor guy liked drawing circles, the only thing he could do well since he was always too drunk to teach us anything at all. I didn't really like how I was all of a sudden thinking of my alcoholic math teacher at the same time as my boyfriend was being patched up in the emergency room while reeking of alcohol so I went back to the insane circle.
Maybe the guy who so generously bestowed the bruises upon him is as crazy as he makes him out to be. And he pretty much makes him out to be a crazy, drunk viking with a love for blood and beatings. As I sat there pretending to listen to the graphical description of the burly viking monster I studied his face. I noticed how the cut right under his eye that has no real shape by itself kind of looks like a dolphin jumping from the water when you look at it with the unnatural circle - and it kind of made me feel that we are utterly wrong for each other...
